MIFF 2004 DAY FIVE
Photography by Clif Graves

Day five, the halfway point. If you are a serious cinephile, you will have
seen between seventeen and nineteen films by the end of tonight.

Daniel Quinn's "If they give you lined paper, write sideways" could be the
motto of many who attend MIFF. The RR2 parking lot, appropriately, has no
lines and people park accordingly.
 |
Somehow, MIFF staff
(Amanda Guilford shown here) and and volunteers remain
smiling and friendly
throughout it all. |

Waiting in a long line? No problem. View it as a movie discussion
opportunity.

Serious filmgoers use the time between movies to compare notes on films they
have seen and adjust plans.

We were able to get a photograph (photographer unknown) of the Film Goddess
in her youth. Some even say when things go wrong, that the Film Goddess is
showing her displeasure.....

NEW BOOKS
FROM OUR CONTRIBUTORS
Editor’s note: With the fall 2008
issue of the journal, we will be starting a new feature where we highlight
new books written by some of our contributors. We encourage readers,
whenever possible, to buy these books for their own personal libraries, as
gifts for family and friends, and perhaps even for their town libraries.
