LETTERS FROM BOBOLINK FARM
By Barbara Tatham Johnson

MIFF 2004 DAY FOUR

Photography by Clif Graves

Past winners of the audience attendance award Pat Clark, Lynn Sawlivich, and Betty-Jane Meader lead a panel discussion.

The Opera House fills with folks eager to see the Empire Falls clips plus A Flash of Green and again later in the day for the awards and The Third Miracle.

Richard Russo, author of Empire Falls, presents Ed Harris with this year's Mid-Life Achievement Award.

Ed Harris graciously accepts the Mid-Life Achievement Award and takes a moment to remind the audience how lucky Waterville and surrounding communities are to have Railroad Square Cinema and MIFF.

As the sun sets over the film goddess's replacement and as the awards ceremony draws the big crowds, dedicated cineholics catch a film or two at RR2 in relative quiet.

NEW BOOKS FROM OUR CONTRIBUTORS

Editor’s note: With the fall 2008 issue of the journal, we will be starting a new feature where we highlight new books written by some of our contributors. We encourage readers, whenever possible, to buy these books for their own personal libraries, as gifts for family and friends, and perhaps even for their town libraries.
