MIFF 2004 DAY TEN
Photography by Clif Graves

The discussions are every where, what did you see, how many movies did
you see, what are you voting for?

Ballots for audience favorite are cast
after the last movie is seen. At this point, some will have seen
as many as 36 films.

With Ballots cast, the Opera House fills up for one last time for
the closing night festivities and one last movie, The Blind Sordsman:
Zatoichi.

Festival director, Shannon Hains starts off the festivities by
thanking a long list of the people who helped make the festival happen.

Ken and Alan talk about the festival and announce the upcoming
special advanced showing of Jonathan Demme's The
Manchurian
Candidate

And the audience favorite winner is.... Wild Parrots of
Telegraph Hill

As the sign says, for these 10 days in July, Waterville, Maine, and MIFF
are truly "a great place to be."

NEW BOOKS
FROM OUR CONTRIBUTORS
Editor’s note: With the fall 2008
issue of the journal, we will be starting a new feature where we highlight
new books written by some of our contributors. We encourage readers,
whenever possible, to buy these books for their own personal libraries, as
gifts for family and friends, and perhaps even for their town libraries.
